She was never a big name actress, who could command millions of dollars per part.

At best, during her best years, she was probably earning no more than a few million.
It looks like to me that her earnings in the last years were low by Hollywood standards and she still has to make her rent or mortgage in the Hollywood Hills.

She was pretty much blacklisted by Hollywood because she made a RomCom flick with Harrison Ford and during the press promotional party given by the studio to promote the film they (the studio) insisted that she NOT show up with her new girlfriend, Ellen DeGeneres. She did anyway and supposedly, the studio now had a heterosexual romcom with a major star (Harrison Ford) that they paid millions and millions for and the female lead shows up as a lesbian for the promotion-

You bet that will get you blacklisted in Hollywood
