Is lower cost really the point of owning an electric car?For me, it's more of a practical choice. On the surface that seems counterintuitive. But, hear me out. We currently have 2 vehicles. An older, payed off pick up that we use sparingly to launch our boat, to go hunting a couple times a year, or for trips to the dump. We also have a soon to be payed off Subaru Outback, that is my wife's commuter car and our regular running around car. We are currently on the reservation list for an Aptera, an electric 2 seater highly efficient solar augmented charging car.
Aptera I am retired, my wife's current commute totals 9 miles a day, and we live where per kWh rates are the lowest in the country at $0.04547. It makes sense for us.

Sure, a tiny EV. Which you're comfortable doing b/c you have an ICE truck and a roomy ICE SUV.
I'd wager there's not many households that are all & only EV.

One more thing, Mr. rick.
I'm also retired and drive very little so just for transporting me, an EV would be fine. I do, though, need more room than is available in a small EV sedan. A new EV the size of my Sante Fe is quite expensive and I would not buy a used EV.
Also, I would not want to drive an EV or have one charging charging or even sitting in my garage.
