There wasn’t even a Declaration of War. Without that the Military overseas must be limited to just Marine guards/security at the consulates/embassies.

Just throwing it out there, but if the US didn't have such a large standing army, entire divisions of troops already stationed overseas, and dozens of defense contractors lobbying every member of congress for more war spending, it might be more difficult to get entangled in foreign incursions.

I’m sure that the fact that the United States has 750 United States military bases in 80 countries plays a pretty big role in why we are interfering everywhere.
