I never realized this... according to Gallup, gays only make up 5-7% of the population. Gay men presumably are about half of that... let's say 3%. If 3% of the population is doing 40% of the molesting, that's... significant.
That reminds me of when people claim that 50% of terrorist plots in the US were "white supremacists," and only 50% were Islamic. It still means 1% of the population is responsible for 50% of the plots.
