Sexual misconduct accusation
In 2022 Franken was accused of misconduct by a former campaign staffer. Kimberley Strope-Boggus filed a police report alleging that after meeting Franken in a bar for drinks, he "grabbed the collar of the vest she was wearing and kissed her on the mouth". Police did not take any action due to lack of evidence. Franken commented "I had a glass of beer", but denied the accusation of unwanted sexual advances.

And, here's the clincher, he "was the first military officer to serve as a legislative fellow for Senator Ted Kennedy."

That assignment might lend credibility to the drunken sexual misconduct accusation, IDK.
