I hate to correct folks for language usage, but you'll thank me later (if you don't already know this). When speaking of a hanging (i.e., lynching), the past tense is "hanged."

Weird, but there it is.

Example, "They hanged old Harry last Saturday. He was a darned good horse thief, but they finally caught him." "Well, he should have been hanged a long time ago."

Hung is how the following fellow would describe himself:
