Wow. Terrible!!! What do you teach?

Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics.

And I'm female, but it makes no difference.

Now if I were a minority female, I would have had tenure a decade ago...

It’s very odd. The guy was “a star teacher at Princeton” (says the article). Then he leaves Princeton to take a year-by-year contract job at New York University. Yes, very odd.

Not so odd. He was at Princeton for 43 years, then he retired. After that professors aren't on tenure tracks for permanent positions. They become visiting professors and that can involve working from year to year.

Re: Medical, Pharmacy, Optometry, Podiatry, Dental Schools/ etc. In my first week we were required to read 300 pages of a dense histology book and we were tested on every paragraph. And....That was only one class! Classes started at 8 a.m. and finished at 5 p.m. It was grueling. All the classes were that intense. If these students are struggling with organic chemistry as undergrads, they will not have the discipline or intelligence to manage graduate school in the health professions.

Actually the course material in Pharmacy School was not difficult. Pre-Pharm had gotten rid of those that would not make it. What made it difficult was the massive amount of drugs, data, and disease states we had to learn. It was massive.

We would first study the disease state and then how to treat it. Oddly on the tests there was not only one right answer. You can treat disease states with many different drugs. If your treatment plan was logical, it was the right answer.

This is true in engineering too. I’ve seen brand new EEs who have never used an oscilloscope. What are they doing in school?

Ha! In college I had a friend who connected an oscilloscope to the record player. He’d smoke weed and watch the music.

Not enough morons are able to get a “college diploma” because college is too hard.

They're definitely dumbing down college (while also wasting all students' time with mandatory, idiotic diversity classes, etc.). Academia must not be in the business of constantly pushing the far-left socialist/communist Democrat/RINO agenda on all those young minds: "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."

Now for a little more inanity from the senile Sleepy Joe puppet in Florida: "Nobody f***s with a Biden." The guy's 80 and his title is "President of the United States," and yet he's still trying to impress everyone by claiming he's another Cornpop that nobody will ever f*** with.

In their globally televised 2020 Presidential debate, senile Sleepy Joe called President Trump a "clown," yet it's obvious to everyone who the senile Sleepy Joe puppet clown is. When Sleepy Joe was recently looking in the audience for a deceased congresswoman he had already memorialized after her recent death, the far-left Daily Show host Trevor Noah responded, "Nooooooooo, Joe, nooooooooo ..." as if he were talking down to his little two-year-old kid. (Basically, the far-left Trevor Noah was finally publicly admitting what he and the world already knew before the 2020 Stolen Election - the guy's totally incapable of being President. But he is fully qualified to be a senile Sleepy puppet.)

I also have a Walgreens Pulse Oximeter [that thing that has replaced a tongue depressor these days] that tells the tale if all is as well as it can be.

YMMV

When I was in college there were several “weed out” courses: Calc II, Physic I & II and Organic. Is there any rigor left in the sciences? I always thought there was a need for difficult courses so that students could fail into becoming Ed majors.
