Ah, I can remember back when the “eat bugs agenda” was only talked about by Conspiracy Theorists. This one is at least partially a matter of the elites just laughing at the people. “Hey, we got them to shut down everything over the virus, we got them believing that cow farts change the weather, we got Drag Queen Story Hour going; I bet we can get them to eat bugs.”

Thats my take as well. Its another subtle humiliation ritual to foist on the hoi polloi.
Its "them" telling the rest of us who is the boss.
