Just learned last night that during Jan 6, Ted Cruz and another republican were prese ting a case to refute the election on the floor, and at that time, Capitol police ran outside opened up the barriers and rushed the people from outside I to the building very likely for the purpose of disrupting Cruz and forcing him to abandon his attempt to call the election into question.
Greg Kelley presented the facts and timeline for that day, and also presented facts that pence was within his rights to call the election I to questi9n too, (but of course he refused to do so because he is feckless) according to an old law on The books that made it legal to protest and contest the results without fear of reprisals... now the left are trying to do away with that right so that noone can protest election. Results on the floor again.
It is pretty clear that Jan 6 was instigated and controlled by the left to turn the proceedings into a circus for the purpose of disrupting Cruz and the other fella from presenting facts to call for recounts or whatever. They zlso did it to accuse the right of i surrecfion and sedition etc o create the illusion that the right was trYing to overthrow the elction, which it was not.
You can watch the little Capitol hill cop run out to the crowds, waving his arms for them to enter and throwing back the barriers shortly after Cruz took to the floor.
I haven’t read that old law. It probably reads that it is legal to protest and contest the results of an election without fear of reprisals if you are a Democrat.
I believe Pence’s job was prior to Jan 6 to lobby state legislatures that had issues to elect competing electors and send to congress. Absent competing electors to count or dispute there was nothing for Pence to arbitrate on Jan 6.
“It is pretty clear that Jan 6 was instigated and controlled by the left to turn the proceedings into a circus for the purpose of disrupting Cruz and the other fella from presenting facts to call for recounts or whatever.”
The left has a history of doing that. It’s their modus operandi. See Kavanaugh’s nomination hearings. See Nadler and others during congressional hearings. It’s right out of the left’s playbook.
Republicans need to get a clue.
