Agreed. It is a bit harder in football because of the number of players, and the amount of scrutiny by the coaches. The refs, on the other hand, can plausibly call holding (OL or D-backfield) on almost any play. Perhaps an OLineman in his last year might let someone through if he needs a fast buck.
Basketball? Easy peasy by refs or players.
Baseball? If a non-contender and if player has guaranteed contract, maybe. Umps have less leeway for bad calls as balls and strikes are closely monitored by computer.
