AAA will not be able to adjust to the new reality. There is no way there can be a tow truck that comes to your rescue on the highway when your battery dies. There is no way to give a charge to a stranded vehicle when it’s going to take 20 minutes to give it enough of a charge so it can make it home.
There would have to be a big vehicle with a generator that roams the highways to give you some juice. It would have to get its power from ..... gasoline or other petroleum product. It could not run on battery power, or it would need assistance.
The politicians are deliberately steering us into total disaster. Their policies are a failure.
“There would have to be a big vehicle with a generator that roams the highways to give you some juice.”
I’ve actually seen a special roadside assistance vehicle for EVs. It was a regular car, like a compact wagon, with a GIANT battery pack taking up the rear of the vehicle. This wasn’t the vehicle’s power source, just an additional battery they carry to jump/recharge the dead EV. I imagine they’d have to sit there for quite a while to give it a good charge.
All you need to know about electric car practicality is that Tesla’s support fleet is comprised of gas-powered Ford F-150s.
There is a startup that has designed and created a pack that will charge a 5 mile charge in 5 minutes.
Cost is 10,000, for the pack and one battery. Batteries are swappable, each extra one is 5 miles and costs 5k
AAA regionals can probably afford those, Joe Smoe guys like me can’t and won’t
