MOM — also called Mangalyaan — has far exceeded its expected mission life of just six to 10 months. The craft was launched in November 2013 and entered orbit around Mars in September 2014.
Mars has been notoriously hard to hit for orbiters and landers. One Soviet-era orbiter turned on its video with just enough time to spare to record the previously unknown natural satellite that destroyed it. The first close-up pics of Mars (1965) were during the flyby of Mariner 4 -- which had been sent to go into orbit around Mars.
Thanks BenLurkin.

Have Mumbai Mike Lee offer the satellite green card amnesty under unanimous consent. That’ll get it working again. /sarc

Good riddance. Mars should be claimed solely by the US, same with the Moon. China and India can stay home.

At least the accent won’t be a problem.
