@ultrapurwater:
“Universal spent $30-$40 million to promote Bros in addition to $22 million to make it to get less than 5 million to get a box office bomb. Its a rejection of Billy Eichner”

Eichner said it was a sold out screening.
@IngramPinky:
“If it was a sold out theater, they must’ve put everyone in America who bought a ticket in a single screening.”

@NotKennyRogers:
“The gay comedy “Bros” opened in over 3,300 screens this weekend and made less than $5 million.

For people who don’t follow box office results, this is a bomb of historic proportions...and yet another reminder that 3% of Twitter isn’t real life.”

5 mil div by 3300 is 1515...if tickets are
$15 each (probably more) it meant 101 people saw it on each screen...all weekend, total.

Pro conservative film An American Carol was
heavily panned by critics. It’s about director “Michael Malone” and his attempt to
“ban the Fourth of July!”

Two lesbians tell him, “We support you!”
Michael:”Thank you, boys!”
His co worker:”They’re women!!”

That kind of comedy truly offended the woke
critics.

and it an average of 101 people per screen saw it, all weekend—let’s say they mean Fri-Sun and 4 showings per day. That’s about 8 or 9 people per showing.

Presumably more saw it in Cambridge/Boston, San Fran, Key West etc...

The reality is certain neighborhoods probably had a lot more people in it, but a lot of areas almost no one was in it.
