Anyone else remember the old original Jelly Roll?
Morton? Heard him all the time growing up.

I searched my library and came up with an old Jazz compilation that has "Dead Man Blues" by Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Peppers.
From 1926!

No, I am familiar with Morton. This was a Rock band in the 70s. Their best hit was “Jelly Roll” from their one album.
They were a one hit wonder, but they did exist on 8 track. Now I can’t even find any references for them at all. And now this artist just made sure we never will by stealing their name.
But they were actually pretty darned good, and deserved much more than what they got.
