Now you have to wear a helmet on a bike, or skiing - the government nannyism has expanded way way too far.
Thanks for the link. I remember those days.
I’ll have to watch the rest!
Well well well,.,

I had to walk home after getting off an hour school bus ride for 2 miles carrying a 25 pound bass guitar and case packed with another 10 pounds of books, up and down hills, in the puget sound rain.
I’d ask what I won,
but im pretty sure you’re the one who actually won /-).
My walk home really sucked /-).
I do miss riding in the pick up bed in the summer !
Can you imagine anyone today letting their 8 year old kid ride a bike 1.5 miles to school and back unaccompanied? 😆

Sad what the progcommiepervs have done to our society and nation isn’t it.
( why does AC want to make “ to” into “ up” so bad ? )
I knew a guy working within a nonprofit who told me back in the 80's that one in seven children had been kidnapped. I was stunned - that crap was the rage - big money maker with liberal nonprofits. Remember milk cartons with missing kid's pictures, parents afraid to let their kids play outside, and all the other 'fear porn' crap.
It was a liberal scam, a lie.
I confronted him and said, 'in my whole life I have never met in person whose child was kidnapped. If what you're saying is true I would know someone or know someone who knew someone who's child had been kidnapped."
After a few minutes of back and forth he told the truth: he said that when a noncustodial parent is more than 10 minutes late returning a child to the custodial parent it counts as a 'kidnap'.
I had to cross The Hard Road (highway) at age six. Our bus stop was the truck weighing station.
Sometimes, my mother would send me to the little neighborhood store, which was also the truck weighing station, for bread or something else they carried that we were out of.
Never thought it was a big deal until I had my own child.
My generation was raised by wolves. Loving wolves, but wolves, none-the-less.
