What is the range on one of those. Seems like 115 miles is pushing it.

Gasoline is lighter than water, so you could tow some float tanks. Not sure how common that is.

Plus, you are crossing the jet stream so you’ve got to point that thing at 5 o’clock just to go to 3 o’clock.

115 miles @ 20 mph = ~6 hours on the water. 15 gallon tank burning 4 gallons per hour = ~3-1/2 hours so maybe you strap on three more 5 gallon tanks because, well, you’re Florida Man. But you don’t count on the chop and the massive current in the Gulf Stream and you run out about 60% of the way there.

Pretty crappy way to go. You are out of fuel but the craft is fully boyant.

A personal locating beacon might save him if he had one.
