There is a reason that these types of people were banned from service in the past. Just the mental health issues alone is enough reason to not give them a security clearance.

In the 1980s, Edwin Meese defended the ban on gays in the FBI. His rationale was that closeted gays would be subject to blackmail.
The gay lobby countered that the solution was to legalize homosexuality. Then gays wouldn't need to hide in the closet, and thus no longer be subject to blackmail.
Gays have long argued that the solution to any and all gay dysfunction is to legalize, then destigmatize, later normalize, then celebrate gayness.
We've done all that. I'm still waiting for their dysfunctional behavior to end.
