Without German industrial and economic power, the EU is irrelevant. The German fall will drag the rest of Europe with it which is already economically imploding.
All economic activity requires energy consumption. In fact, money is just an abstract representation of energy. Spending money is the same as consuming energy, and causing pollution. You can accurately estimate anything's carbon footprint simply by looking at its price. No energy means no economy.
Germany hung their economy by a single thread that can be severed by anyone, including their own greentards. Further, their primary supplier is hostile to Germany and deeply hates them. How incredibly stupid is that? It's not the first time Germany committed economic suicide.
