Long term, I do not know the answer, but annual flu efficacy is usually in the 40%-50% range, which is interesting since they completely whiff on at least one of viruses they select each year.
Also, within the last month, I read that people who get the flu vaccine every year (like me) have almost the same risk for Covid infection as the people who get the Covid booster.

A case can be made for playing the odds. Even if the efficacy is that low, 40%-50% is better than the 0% from not taking the shot, especially if the strain is particularly nasty.
