We already do that at the gas pump. Oil refineries have to buy RIN's (carbon credits) to lower their carbon tax. Tesla is always happy to sell them carbon credits for a price a little lower than the carbon tax. I've read this adds 75 cents to every gallon sold, and that was before Brandon increased the ethanol mandate to 15%. (I honestly can't remember if Brandon went ahead with that or if it was canceled.)
