Perhaps they were meant for Ukraine, but immediately wound up on e-bay.
Just saving a few steps in between....
“how at least a dozen fully-automatic M16s ended up among military surplus equipment sold to a Houston couple.”
Really good luck?
Answered Prayers?
Whatever it was, tell me.
I want some too.
“somebody’s in trouble...”
Yes, the couple who reported the mistake. They were far-right Christian nationalist ultra-MAGA semi fascists because they were in the Army/Navy surplus trade.
They will be thrown in the FIB dungeon and given a trial at some point down the road, perhaps in 2056.
The firearms must be transferred to their rightful owners in Kabul.
Somebody’s theft and smuggling went awry - a long time ago if they are M-16s.
Why do these things never happen to me?.........................
Maybe it did. You’d never tell us. ;^)
These people are about as bright as the guy who found $10 million in gold coins buried in a can under a tree on his property. He ended up in a court battle with the government, which alleged that the coins had been stolen by a men’s employee from the early 1900s. That, and the prior owners of the property also sued him. Sometimes people’s mouths are way too big for their own good.
I wouldn’t tell a soul....................😉
That would explain why they went for a search warrant. Because criminals always contact the authorities when illegal activities occur. /s
Now you know the rest of the story.
“One of the strictest things we have in the military is weapons accountability.”
Well no, not really. Not anymore. Obviously, or this wouldn’t even be a story.
Maybe that was true a long time ago. Recall about 325,000 weapons, including machine guns alone were abandoned in Afghanistan, and Ukraine is apparently a participant in the “$2 Billion a Month Club”; like the old Columbia House record club.
I think it might have been more interesting to contact the unit where they were assigned. “Hey you guys got all yer guns?”
All of a sudden there’s going to be a hot market in people buying up these sorts of containers in hopes of hitting a jackpot...
If it does we’ll never know....................😎
Mint employee.
It’s a set up.
Here’s a website to go to if you want to try to get as lucky as these people did:
Some people have all the luck.
Just prepping for the upcoming civil war the left is pushing for.
