“Not one time have I heard you mention the Name of JESUS. Demons are cast out in His Name alone.”
First I ask you, whose name did Jesus use to cast out demons?
He often stated that it was His Father working through Him and not His work.
John 14 is one of my favorite books in the Bible. It explains much of this. Jesus is in me and I am in Jesus. Our Father that is in Jesus is also in me if Jesus is in me.
It is not me doing this work, nor is it my will. I am just a servant trying my best to die daily so He can fill me. If I am full of myself, I have no room for God.
Jesus is my Savior as He lowered Himself to earth to be born in the flesh and walk on this earth and teach us. 1 John 4:1 is an accurate scripture to test spirits.
The problem is most Christians say “Jesus is my Savior” and treat Him like a lifeguard that can pluck them out when they are drowning (dying.)
Which would you sooner have, a lifeguard that sits there and waits until you are drowning to help, or a lifeguard that teaches you how to swim?
Jesus was a rabbi, a teacher. He was teaching us how to be with Him and to do the things that He did and more through Him.
Until JESUS won the victory over sin and death on the cross and through His resurrection, He cast out demons through His FATHER.
AFTER JESUS WON THE VICTORY...
JESUS IS GIVEN ALL AUTHORITY
JESUS came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18)
DEMONS ARE CAST OUT IN JESUS’ NAME
15 And then He told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”
19 When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 20And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs. (Mark 16:15-20)
