I know at least with tesla you can’t take it anywhere but tesla for service and repair.
Rare but common
No one else dares work on one!..................
It says airports are banning certain battery cars now.
I guess they don’t want their entire garage burned downed while the libtards are on vacation in Mexico
Can you even work on one? I imagine it is extremely proprietary and removing about any panel will void the warranty, lock you out, report you, or potentially all 3.
My Ford Mach e had a potential issue that was fixed with an over the air update. It involved the battery terminals.
I have noticed that it charges more quietly now; it must throttle back the charge to the point where the cooling fan isn’t needed as much.
BTW, I charge mine after work, but while still awake. With my short commute it’s up to 90% in an hour or so.
“No one else dares work on one!..................”
That’s a good point. Who wants the liability if it does the “Flame on!” thing after the repair.?
Shade-tree mechanics impacted the most.
We’re at a hotel for the week. A Tesla parked beside us in the parking garage. I moved the truck.
Because I’m partial to Mustangs (I own a GT)...I’ll refrain from making negative comments about the E version. LOL.
However, we also own a F150, and I gotta say...the dashboard monitor/system sucks. Just did the Sync 3.3 to the 3.4 upgrade especially for the updated NAV function. It’s horrible. You’d think...you spend $60 grand on a truck and you’d get a decent onboard computer system. Wrong. I am now using my Android’s Google maps function to navigate.
Don’t even get me started on the Ford Pass app.
The point I’m making, I guess, is that I just don’t think I’d trust Ford with that specialized a system. (I will say though, that we test drove an Escape Hybrid years ago. I was very impressed. Wound up with a Prius instead.)
I know of very few gasoline-fueled ICE vehicles that simply burst into flame while being quietly charged up with fuel. It happens, mind you, but that is usually because of some simple precaution not being followed, like not smoking while refueling the vehicle.
Battery-powered plug-in electric vehicles seem to be much more temperamental pieces of machinery, in so many ways. Simply following the manual (as if anybody ever READS the manual) might go far in reducing these mishaps, but this new technology, man, that can be hard.
If only there were a way to generate the electric power needed to propel the vehicle right on board, as it is about to be consumed, think of the simplicity that could attach to the whole concept of electrically powered vehicles.

I can help. The E version is *wonderful* because it means Ford gets to keep building ICE vehicles including the mustang longer than they would have otherwise due to the offset
I won’t even use a cellphone or do anything to cause static when fueling up
My Ford Pass app works well for everything except Phone As A Key. I stopped doing that and carry my key.
The onboard navigation and everything else works well enough, but since I use my phone for SiriusXM I also use Google Maps, which appears on my big led screen. That way I hear directions and Nav stuff.

Sure can’t...which is reason #179 I’ll never own one.
Having to take it back to tesla is about as stupid as taking your ICE vehicle back to the dealership every time you need work......that’s the LAST place I go as a last resort.

I’m good with that. I saw an orange 2022 Shelby recently...and my loins ached. It was beautiful.
ORANGE, at my age. One of these days maybe.
Yep...nothing like having a monopoly on service and repairs.
It’s probably me. I’m sure I’m missing something with the Ford system.
LOL. I wonder if Spokane International Airport will ban them just as they finish their shiny new EV charging stations...
