Michael McDonald ruins everything he touches. He’s like the Barack Obama of commercial music.

They were a great band, as I can recall.
Both fun and professional.
To pass away age 72 is ‘young’ nowadays.
Maybe he had already been dealing with a health concern over a long period of time. Not everyone shares every aspect of their lives while strolling the internet.

Earlier this week, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posted an “In Memoriam” tribute to original Doobie Brothers drummer John Hartman — though oddly, according to a Hall of Fame rep, his family confirmed that he actually died on December 29, 2021. Now, his bandmates have acknowledged Hartman’s passing on their official Facebook page.

Love the Stampede album, “I Cheat The Hangman”, and “Neal’s Fandango” are too of my favorites.

I really liked the Doobies, but I have to confess I never once heard the drums.

You know you are getting old when your favorite bands from the 60/70’s are dying and getting too old to play (Frampton et al). I wonder what concerts I’ll be going to in the next 5-10 years as I tend not to enjoy today’s music with some exceptions. Maybe just jazz festivals and stuff.

John Hartman died nearly a year ago on December 29, 2021 at the age of 71 (not 72).

Apparently the Doobie Brothers band happened to mention his passing on a social media page this weekend and the media simply assumed that this had just happened and without even a cursory factual check, ran the story that he just died at age 72.

If this does not convince you how useless and incompetent our media is, I don't know what will. Even on simple things like this, you just cannot trust a damn word they say.
