Harold Camping made several end of the world predictions but their failure didn't stop one Staten Island man who gave away his life savings. The rolling earthquakes in each time zone again failed to appear; later after Camping died his company sold his Philly station. The station's new owners launched a talk format after a stunt where they kept playing REM's It's The End of the World:

I used to live in Reno. Almost 20 years ago there was an early
morning earthquake on the fault that runs beneath Lake Tahoe.
I heard stories from folks that lived up at the lake of
18 inch tall 'tsunamis' rolling ashore.

The quake woke me up from a dream that I was being
tossed about in a rowboat in a storm - seriously.

Something heavy and breakable crashed to the floor in
the apartment next door. That's what woke me up.
I was awake for the last 30 seconds or so of the shaking.

So even beachfront property in Nevada is not safe from God's wrath!
