I am surprised they have not been able to trace the exact source of the cyanide.

Analytical chemistry in 2022 can identify every molecule in a poison.

Knowing the exact lab or exact retail source of the cyanide could narrow down the suspects to a couple dozen people.

I knew the guy. He was a classmate of my brother at the Carl Junction, Missouri high school. As I remember, there were question about the death of his mother. He was a strange one.

It may not have been the same case, but a similar poisoning of several people who used an OTC headache capsule was mentioned lately on the internet. It seems that the poisoner was a woman who wanted to kill her husband and used the other deaths as a misdirection. She was convicted and recently came up for parole at age 78. I don’t know if she was released.
