Seen worse in the North Atlantic riding out a Nor’Easter. This was back in 1972 on a sub during a surface transit.

Yep- I was on an icebreaker off the coast of Nova Scotia when a squall hit with 25+ ft waves. Lasted 8 hrs - or so I was told. I ended up losing consciousness after being tossed around for about 20 minutes.
