My favorite song from The Beatles White Album.

Uh oh, did I just put myself in cancel culture territory?

I loved that song. It was written in the classic John Lennon style; take a simple melody and make it better.
A lot of short, repeated notes in the verses.
John is singing about Prudence, Mia Farrow’s sister, who didn’t want to mix with any others in the small group that traveled to India in order to meet a famous Yogi.

I think Lennon was angry because the Maharishi put the moves on Prudence, so she was reluctant to come out. He could no longer respect him as a spiritual leader, but Harrison loved him. #metoo

A famous Yogi that later on the Beatles got hip to.

He was a fake.

He made a sexual advance on Mia Farrow. Hence John’s song, Sexie Sadie, which was about just that.

I love all the Beatles but George, supposedly so spiritual and who defended the Maharishi, claimed it wasn’t true, cheated on his own wife, Pattie and left her for a woman he was having an affair with and made pregnant.

I never even thought about that possibility. You may be right. We men can be panting dogs when we see something ‘of interest’. Not all women are bold enough to tell the world famous Maharishi to ‘Get Lost!’
He probably used the old “You look as though your Chakras need unblocking. I can help you, My Child!” line.

Bill Burr makes an excellent point in one of his stand-up routines: famous men are subject to temptations the rest of us will never come close to experiencing. It's easy for us to judge George Harrison, but we have no idea whether we'd do any better because we aren't world-famous musicians pursued by hordes of women.

Actually I think she had an affair with Ronnie Wood and Eric clapton, while he had an affair with Ringo Starr’s wife.

Nahhh, I love that song too. In fact, that whole album, which was a collection of tunes they recorded at different times is arguably their best ever. I agree with that assessment.

Some interesting trivia for you...

The song Sexy Sadie was written about the Maha Rishi (sp?). Instead of saying “Sexy Sadie” the original lyric was “Maha Rishi”. John was very disillusioned after a two week visit to the Yogi's compound. The Yogi turned out to be a phony “holy man” who hit on a chick in their group, maybe it was Prudence. The reason John changed the lyric to "Sexy Sadie" was because George, who still thought the Yogi was the real deal, refused at the last minute to record a song that defamed him. If you change the lyric to Maha Rishi when you listen to it you'll know exactly what John thought of the phony holy man.

After my freshman year at Cincinnati, I decided to move to LA and the girl-next-door (and future wife) joined me and my plan to transfer to UCLA.

We found a nice apt in Hollywood nestled in a middle-class neighborhood near Sunset.

One Sat afternoon, I had my clock radio tuned to KHJ and was hearing songs I had never heard before. Additionally, the guest DJ would talk about each song, what it was about or what was occurring in the recording session.

The songs? The entire White Album.
The DJ? George Harrison.

A week later, the album was released and I quickly bought it at a small record shop on Sunset.

Awesome song from that album. Lovely harmonies. And two drummers on it. Paul plays most of it (muffled drums), then near the end, Ringo’s edit was mixed in around the big finish; You can tell by his UN-muffled snare.

I get your point and have often thought of it. I will say this though. I do believe in God so during my life I have tried to follow those commandments.

As a woman, and especially when you are a young woman, men make passes at you all the time, everywhere you go. All day long. If I wanted to, and I have been lonely, I could easily go ‘that way’. I’m sure the girls on here know what I say is true. As a girl you kind of get used to brushing them all off.

What really shocks me is in thinking back on my earlier years, before even 16, how many men made those passes.

Well, that is right. You’re right. But her affair with Clapton was after George was already cheating and Clapton was really pushing it and still she didn’t act on it for over a year I think.

Did you read ‘Wonderful tonight’? by Pattie? It’s fascinating.

Still. That is true. I know Ringo broke up with Maureen. I wonder how he could ever forgive George. He did that in the house while Pattie was there in their own bedroom.

Or the Eddie Murphy routine about how women would throw their Ps at him like they were Frisbees. And then of course Trump's comment about how when a Man is rich and famous, women will let them grab their Ps.

Revolution #9 disqualifies it from consideration.
