Like St. Bartholomews Day. Just a regrettable little incident where unfortunately 20,000 or so French deviationists (we’re called “Huguenots”) were sent off early for their confrontation with the Almighty, right?
And we could go on and on about that, but we did find refuge 4000 miles away in a mostly unpopulated land where we cleared the woods for farms in places like Virginia and the Carolinas, far from the Papal troops. Unfortunately our social success attracted the very same narrow minded table pounding conformists from the Old World, who are now yet again attempting to impose their madness on us.
