Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver, banned for a year and fined $10 million by the NBA for racist and misogynist remarks and workplace bullying, said Wednesday he will sell the team.
Following the punishments imposed last week, NBA players union executive director Tamika Tremaglio called for Sarver to be banned for life, and NBA stars LeBron James and Chris Paul declared the penalties too light.
Major sponsor PayPal said it would not renew its deal with the team if Sarver were still involved, and Suns vice chairman Jahm Najafi called for Sarver to resign.
“In our current unforgiving climate, it has become painfully clear… whatever good I have done, or could still do, is outweighed by things I have said in the past,” Sarver said in a statement.
“For those reasons, I am beginning the process of seeking buyers for the Suns and (Women’s NBA) Mercury.”
Sarver’s decision was welcomed by NBA commissioner Adam Silver as well as Sarver’s co-owners and the NBA Players’ Association.
“I fully support the decision by Robert Sarver to sell the Phoenix Suns and Mercury,” Silver said in a statement. “This is the right next step for the organization and community.”

They never explain what they said. I think the main charge was he quoted some people who used the n word.
I applaud his actions. Sell the team to some rich pansy who will knuckle under to all the woke BS and retire. Take up cattle ranching in Montana or something.
He was complaining about Draymond Green using the N word on the court and said the actual word without saying N-Word. People can say they don’t care about the NBA. But this cancelling everyone is more marxism. It can happen to you next. It teaches kids that marxism is the way to go and it is destroying the country from within. These things matter.

All professional sports are getting ruined now. They make so much money that they are not really in it for the passion of the game anymore.
The only sport that is left is NFL. I suppose NHL is all right. But I am not Canadian.
Well, that makes two NBA teams that Chris Paul has been on where the owner was forced to sell team (the other being Donald Sterling with the Clippers). He was also traded for in June 2017 to the Houston Rockets, whose owner ended up selling the team in September 2017.
Threaten to disband the teams, and make the NBA & the WNBA buy them. Have the leagues be the owners, then walk away.
Keep a recording of Samuel Jackson or Snoop saying it, and then whenever you need to use it, play that short word clip, and keep going.
After all then, you didn’t say it, a black person they love and adore said it. They would be lying if they try to claim you said it.
They aren’t going to cut slack when one uses it in a demonstrative way in a discussion, you can get around that.

As the owner, I would threaten the league behind closed doors to run the team as such an embarrassment that they’d beg to buy it away from me at a very high markup.
The NBA was fun when the Celtics had Cousy and Havlicek. And even they couldn’t fill the Boston Garden. But the Bruins could, ever before Bobby Orr.
NFL is horrible. If it’s a close game, the team with the ball last, usually wins. No real defense. It’s a ridiculous joke of a competitive sport. TV, gambling, and the “sucker”phants keep the enterprise on life support and alive.
I think they need to change some rules in the NFL to help out the defense, a rule change would be that the quarterback is not allowed to pass to the running backs unless he is lined up at the line of the scrimmage as a reciever or a tight end.
The NFL is not that bad once you tune out Colin Kaepernick. He's out of the league and everyone saw that he was radioactive. NBA is a different story though. But I don't care anyway. I wouldn't watch it because it's a different game. NFL is still somewhat watchable. NBA is not. MLB is not. NBA and MLB need to fix the rules of the game to make it watchable again. Just my two cents.
