I would guess each hospital have one or two truly incompetent surgeons, and M.D.s....they are protected by the bean counters.....as long as they bring in the long green.
If you need to know who the good surgeons are, the post op recovery unit, or ICU nurses, or surgical techs, if honest and know they won’t get fired for divulging the truth, can give you lots of good info.

One of my doctors was on the malpractice committee at a hospital, but he was too "honest" about malpractice, so they revoked him and his wife's privilege's.

Later, our current Vice President wanted to force him into retirement because of his age, even though he didn't have a single malpractice case against him, or even a single complaint.
