I feel for you. It’s amazing how many elderly people fall for the scams given the constant public service announcements, warnings, and “how to avoid the scams” articles in every publication geared to the elderly. But, those that are older seem to just skip over those warnings.

I think it has something to do with the fact that they grew up in the time of the telephone suddenly being available, and that anytime they heard that “jangle” it was a family member or friend calling. They simply do not expect that someone on the phone has nefarious intentions.

They build a friendship with them, even to the point of trusting them more than family trying to stop them from giving their money away,,,, demonic.
