“You ever notice that people working in those fast-food restaurants back in the 70s and 80s were actual adults? I mean, even if they were 18-year olds, they didn’t have the teen mannerisms. These were grown professional adults who was making you food just like as if they were your Mom and Dad.”
I worked at a lot of fast food places around the country during the 1960s and 70s, as a peon and in mgmt, and I agree with you. I used to think of fast food chains as similar to military basic and used to recommend kids spend at least 6 months doing it to help them focus and grow up and be taught to pay attention to detail and wonderful efficiency and order and responsibility.
My kids all worked in the fast food/restaurant business throughout high school and college.
Today their professions are: research chemist ,environmental engineer, small business owner, editor, English teacher, phlebotomist, librarian.
