On this date in 1940, Polish intelligence officer, Withold Pilecki, volunteered to be captured and infiltrated into the Auschwitz camp in order to smuggle out information to the Allies.
Pilecki remained inside until his escape in 1943.
Years later he was captured and executed for running Anti-communist networks. ✝️

Was there a break or change in the ceremony at 4:49 PM (1649) local time (1149 EDT)? The article says she was laid to rest at 7:30 PM (1930) local time (1430 EDT). I’m wondering that the 4:49 PM capture was just when the screen shot was taken. Now if the actual interment process started at 2149 local time that would be something very interesting. What do Anons think?
