A friend of mine just shot a deer (bow) on my property in NH (USA). I get half. The back strap is said to be very good. I’ll be getting the ground meat next week. That and the food service we have we are never without meat.

You might have already given the info in a previous post -- if so, pls excuse. But what do you personally do if, say, there's something like a major ice-caused power outage? How do you keep the frozen meat frozen?
And if you're lucky enough to already have a good generator on hand, do you have any type of contingency plan in the event that an outage lasts longer than there's insufficient fuel stored for?
In OK, it never gets cold enough (or STAYS cold for long enough) to make storing meat or other perishables outside a viable option.
