The Khazara are a Turkic people so far DNA testing that has been done pretty much confirms that. That testing also seems to squelch the idea that eastern European Jews descended from the Khazars.

There were Sephardic Jews in Spain, which is in Europe, and there were Jews in Rome (Jews in Rome claim they are descendants from them) and Rome is in Europe.
