Bill Clinton was elected in 1992 thanks to the media hyping a non-existent recession and painting President Bush as a wimp, and Ross Perot splitting the vote. Clinton did not receive a majority in either 1992 or 1996, yet per the media he and The Shrill One were universally loved. They drove me from the Dem Party (I was a bit starry-eyed and naive back then).
