So, you put your personal preferences ahead of the welfare of patients in the hospital, and the good of your employer.
My department was always well respected by my boss (a Vice President) and our hospital was then,and still is,rated as one of the best in the world.
It would take me a long,long time to explain (in detail) my attitude toward tattoos but let's just say that,IMO,it's *not* a coincidence that 99.9% of guys in prison (and a good percentage of women) have them. And yes,I understand that not all people with tattoos are criminals.
