You could also make your own rolls with the dough. Just shape it, stick it into a toaster oven, let it rise and bake.

BTW, you were right about the Dutch soldiers. Mea culpa. Even if they had been looking for chemical thrills, they did not deserve what came their way. But to get attacked like that, a tree and a rope seemed apposite for the perp.
