First tip, 1000 mg. B1 is 500 times the recommended daily allowance. I know nothing about Mucuna Pruriens Extract and I would say to take advice like that given here without researching it would be foolish in the extreme.

I am a healthy mentally active 84 year old. Fifty-two years ago I had a health crisis after my first child was born with severe colic lasting for 9 months. My mother hadWith severe varicose veins and leg ulcers. At age 45 she had her veins stripped and I did not relish doing the same. My legs hurt when standing after 8 pm. so I lay down, neglected housework and angered my husband. I was lucky to be given a book by Adelle Davis called “Let’s Eat Right to Keep Fit” which tells how to use food and supplements for improved health. I began taking the supplements she recommended for varicose veins, menstrual cramps, backpain and exhaustion. Within 1 month I could stand til midnight with no leg pain, I never missed another day of work from my woman’s monthly, and I needed 2 hours less a night of sleep. I also fed my 9 month old a little yogurt every day and in 3 days the colic was gone.

I had majored in science and education so was fascinated with these results. Since I needed 2 hours less sleep at night I read all 4 of Adelle Davis’ books and started reading everything about therepeutic nutrition I could find. I read every night for at least an hour for almost 2 years. I even formed my own health action group and testified when the FDA was trying to limit availability of supplements. We succeeded. Conservatives and liberals were strongly united on this issue.

There are lots of books on health, supplements, and nutrition. On line you can enter the name of a problem and ask for recommendations. Here are some I have entered recently for family and friends. Food and supplements for tackycardia (rapid heartbeat, and my friend has had fewer episodes). Food and supplements for cataracts (after 2 years my cataracts are 80% improved). Food and supplements to use or avoid during colon cancer chemotheraoy (I sent my brother 8 or 9 bottles of various supplements after his colon surgery, and 6 months later he is feeling and functioning a lot better). At any rate, I hope you get the idea.

When I testified I even read Dr. Roger Williams, whose book Biochemical Individuality explains why people might need a lot more of a few vitamins and less of others. My ancestors were dairy herders and I have a higher need for calcium. Also with allergies I need a lot more Vitamin C and pantothenic acid, as it turned out my allergic father did too .
