More abstractly, it seems inevitable that an enterainer who styles himself as a people's champion and flaunts his wealth will become a target for robbery in his own community/cultural group.
The transformation from champion to targeted prey is predictable, based on the tension between group identity and individual greed.
And keeping it white, I can say this is a constant cycle in history that isn't race specific, sometimes glorified in the movies as revolutionary and progressive. The poor get rich, then too rich, and have to be taken down.
It doesn’t help that socialist theory is the true perfect opiate for elites and masses alike, offering something like salvationistic zeal with none of that messy repentance and righteousness guff.
