Did "DuckDuckGo" change their search parameters? Everything leads to leftist sites---especially on covid/Vax

Yesterday I was trying to search information regarding Covid, vaccines and efficacy and everything was from Jan 2021-June 2021 and from CNN, CDC, leftists sites.

Also, everything that came up was the complete opposite of what I searched. Maybe it's just me but I use to be able to search all this stuff with no problem.

The ‘search’ in the search engines is an important means of obtaining information. Thus we can see why government colludes with the search engine people to distort the searches.

But let’s not have government step in with regulations to supposedly make the searches unbiased.

We citizens just must be aware.

DDG was a scam from the beginning. They do sell your data, just try a few DDG searches and you will get inundated with ads for what you searched for.

I thought DDG used the Google engine at its core.

I believe it does. When you are searching on DDG, you are still "googling". You're just doing it in a different browser.

If I want info about Russia or China, I use Brave Search.

If I want info about the USA or Ukraine, I use Yandex.

If I want info about nefarious RINOs, I use Google.

If I want info about the intelligence state, I use Free Republic.

See how this works? Always ask the opposition. :)

That’s great. I didn’t mean to suggest DDG was better than Brave, only that it still is better than Google.

Do a Duck search, get identical.

That's because Duck is a browser, not a search engine. And I believe that browser uses a google API to perform it's search function. That would explain why Duck and Google would return identical resulsts....you're using google on both. DDG's claims are to browsing and search privacy. In other words, a search on Chrome tracks where you went and when you went there. Where DDG claims to not keep track of that.

In my experience, a lot of sites don't work properly or at all on DDG because they require cookies which DDG, by default, doesn't accept.

DDG's claims to complete browsing privacy seem to have been weakened as of late and bear watching. I don't trust that anything is private anywhere on any browser or on any search engine.

Use โ€œBraveโ€.

I thought Brave was still in Beta

“That’s because Duck is a browser, not a search engine.”

Did you mean the opposite?

Because DDG is indeed a search engine and not a browser.

“I started using Tor Search and select Standard Web instead of Dark Web. Itโ€™s a little slower but at least ya get more info...”

Do you have any trouble clicking through to those sites from the TOR search links? I have found a lot of sites do not like the exit nodes being served up by TOR.

You're right. My only experience with it, however, has been with it's mobile browser app. I wasn't familiar with desktop chrome extensions that perform as a search engine. Posted from a point of ignorance on my part. When I hear "duckduckgo", my mind goes only to the mobile app I have sitting on my phone.

Oh yes... They are primarily a search engine but do have a search/browser app option available. So I suppose they can be either depending on device and personal option choice.

I stand corrected...

Well that is good then... I have just had issues with exit nodes on some sites because their security doesn’t like TOR exit nodes. They make me do a google recaptcha before allowing access. Which of course defeats the purpose of using TOR anonymously.
