Most gyms with public lockers have signs posted saying they are not responsible for thefts or property damage to stored items. In addition, who says he ever had such a watch in the first place? Maybe he’s attempting a quick shake down based on a few well told lies and idle threats.
If he claims he was on the waitlist, he may have prove he bought it.
So, the guy was out for 30 minutes? Did he advertise the fact that he was putting his watch in his shoe? How did the thief know it was as there? Did he break into any other lockers? How did he know about this particular locker? You may be right HB. Doesn’t pass the smell test.
