let me make sure that I have this right.

Russia encourages and supports the breakaway provinces of Lugansk and Donetsk (Donbas) in 2014...

These provinces are largely populated with ethnic Russians...

In order to travel, Russia, through their allies in the Donbas, issue Russian passports to those who want them...

Russia is getting expelled from the province just north of Lugansk, and it looks like the Ukrainian forces are moving into Lugansk proper...

The residents of the Donbas, who supported Russia and separation from Ukraine, want to get out of the way of the oncoming Ukrainian hordes by fleeing into Russia...

...and Russia will not honor the passports that they issued 8 years ago?

I guess now know how the Russians feel about the Ukrainians.

Russian Supremacists think they are a slavic master race and that all Ukrainians are beneath them.

Well, they are of no use to Russia if they flee to Russia. But if they are forced to stay in Ukraine they can fulfill Putin’s purpose of keeping the door open for further Russian aggression under the excuse of “defending ethnic Russians”.

It sounds almost like the Russians didn’t invade Ukraine to protect these people after all. I wonder what their motivation could have really been.

If this is true, it’s bad. I doubt it. However…

Imagine having your President overthrown in a Revolution. Joining a secession movement because of being disenfranchised. Having Russia come to help after 8 years of bombardment from Kiev. Then being rejected by Russia
