I don’t read much science fiction anymore. I don’t really like the new styles and the new generation of authors. I guess my tastes are old fashioned.
That series isn’t so much sci-fi, rather alternate reality. Due to unkown force(s) at work a 21 century mother and two children end up in 13th century Wales. But end up bouncing back to their home earth and back on occasion.
A better alternate history universe series would be the one that started with “1632” by Eric Flint.
As for full on sci-fi, I’ve been reading the “Spinward Fringe” series by Randolph LaLonde (b.1974) which I’ve very much enjoyed.
