Allow me to say, I do not know what happened to the beautiful dog, but from what I can see...THAT was a common, mean, evil trick on the poor dog.
From what I can see. If there is more, it had better be that the dog reached the top and successfully landed on the other side.
Anything else is PURE BULLYISM.

That particular dog was probably the happiest he ever is while doing that. Would probably do it if no one was around.

You obviously have never hunted nor trained dogs for hunting. As others have stated this is a technique to train hunting dogs. You jumped the gun without looking at the photo and seeing that the wire/rope held the toy and is a release when the dog catches the toy so as not to harm the dog.
Maybe you should stay awhile on the Q thread. You may learn something.
