She was a sweet gentle woman. Loved her in the adaptation of William Saroyan's
The Human Comedy. It won the Academy Award for Best Story in 1943.
The Human Comedy comes around on TCM from time to time. It depicts small town life in a rural setting, a life and a time gone by. RIP Marsha. Also in it are Frank Morgan and young Mickey Rooney. Highly recommended.

I saw it once. Did not read the book by Saroyan.
The movie was good. It’s so different than anything made anymore it’s hard to describe. Your word sweet is good. Wholesome. Humane.
No guile. No misanthropy.
