Could you be thinking of the dad in The Brady Bunch? He certainly was gay and died of AIDS if I remember correctly.
I don’t think Hugh Beaumont was gay.

No, I do not think so. The guy was married, had two kids and was a Methodist pastor. You must be thinking of someone else. Maybe the Brady Bunch dad.
