300 mile range of the wind is right and moderate temperatures, but how far will it go at below freezing temperatures, when you will need the heater, defroster, wipers and lights? Not my choice for getting anywhere in the winter.

A concern of ski slope lovers, but most folks don’t like to drive their cars long distance in the winter.

EVs will be like Covid jabs, good market acceptance at first and eventually dug-in heels resistance by holdouts.

And only driven on level ground... They just need to add a section in the Owner’s Manual for when the battery dies on how to leave it on the side of the road or off the road and not abandon it in a lane.

How long you have to pre-warm the interior until you can feel the steering wheel and wait for the ice to melt off the windows should factor into that. I'm trying to imagine a Northern college with chargers in the dorm parking lot. What's the life expectancy of a chargers in the presence of snow plows? I suppose by then students won't be able to afford or allowed cars.

Not only that, but EV range figures are a scam anyway. It’s really “300 miles if you don’t mind trashing your $20k batteries” or 200 miles otherwise. And the even bigger elephant in the room is the depreciation schedule of the EV. Even if you can get it for the same price as a gasoline vehicle, replacement of $20k in batteries is a ticking financial bomb someone is going to get stuck with.
