Conventional wisdom has it that the “angry woman” theory is the reason some polls are showing Democrats surging. The thinking goes that millions of women are enraged about the Dobbs decision leaving abortion up to the states and will take their anger out on Republicans at the polls.
The “angry women” are going to march to the polls in lockstep on Election Day and robotically pull the lever for Democrats. Or so we’re told.
But conventional wisdom is not always the wisest — especially when it comes to Democrats who engage in wishful thinking rather than penetrating analysis. In fact, it may not be “angry women” leading the way in enthusiasm to vote at all.
An analysis by the Washington Post’s Philip Bump gives surprising results as to who is most eager to go to the polls and vote in November.
"On Tuesday, I looked at the growing murmurs that American women in particular are going to flood the polls in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Protecting access to abortion in the wake of the dismantling of Roe v. Wade quickly became a rallying cry aimed at November — but polling doesn’t indicate that Democrats have seen a big surge in support from female voters."
"In fact, data provided to The Washington Post by the polling firm YouGov indicate that the group that reports the most enthusiasm about voting is the polar opposite of what many expect: Republican men. And that this enthusiasm has grown."
It’s glorious to see conventional wisdom explode so massively and so completely.

Legal Messicans?
Yeah, you don’t want to piss of the semi-fascist crowd. They vote too
Woman in lefty states are deeply upset now that they have to go an additional billionth of an inch to get to the nearest abortion clinic.
;-)
I recently saw an ad against a Rep. candidate for Congress where the police were showing up at people’s homes to drag away women who had an abortion and women doctors and nurses who gave abortions.
That ad smelled of desperation.
we’re already getting inundated with “Blake Masters will privatize your social security” here in AZ from the ass-tronought
Let them lie to themselves. So when Abortion doesn’t turn the women out to the polls we can throw it right back in their faces. And maybe the idiot moderate GOP critters will see Abortion isn’t something we have to avoid discussing.
It is definitely the MIVs...
Only 3-to-5 million got to vote in 2020.
However, 10-to-15 million will be voting in 2022...
Certainly, 25-to-35 million will be voting in 2024...
“And maybe the idiot moderate GOP critters will see Abortion isn’t something we have to avoid discussing.”
That would only work if RINOs didn’t base their decision making on wishful thinking.
Perhaps if women can find a more constructive way to obtain affirmation than having sex with random guy A, perhaps the need for abortion services would wane.
Where I am 50% of my colleagues and such are of Mexican (multi generational in US) descent and they are so far right on the cultural issues they’d make half the posters here seem liberal
And many of them and their older kids are really getting a grasp on how uncle sugar screws those who work their way up and succeed on their own.
"I wish someone would buy me a double scotch"?
Republican man-the worst possible news for the dems. No wonder they are freaking out and Slo Joe is giving Hitleresque tantrum speeches.
More like: “if we are nice to the Democrats, surely they’ll be nice to us in return”, that kind of wishful thinking.
Hey - ANY DAY I’ll take mine in a lump sum calculated to my life-expectancy and be wealthy in retirement. I’ll invest wisely and won’t have to worry about SS default.
That was rude of me to make that comment...and I apologize. The different cultures in this country make it a wonderful place to live.
There will be direct violence to keep us from voting. Be prepared.
I’m always surprised at the verve the dead people have on election day.
A lot of men don’t vote, if something motivates a lot of those to register and vote once, then many of them will have joined the system and will probably vote in some future elections, such as in presidential years, and a few of them may become passionate and regular voters once woken up.
